So what do we grow at Taproot Farm?  Maybe better question is what DON'T we grow!  We are a very diversified, young farm.  Unlike many monocrop industrial farms, we don't sell to the commodity market -- but rather directly to our small town market, "The Farmer's Daughter" market http://farmersdaughterwv.com owned by our daughter Kate and son-in-law Pete.  So we offer our loyal, local buyers many different items in their diet... along with the peace of mind knowing we are chemical-free, treat our animals humanely and farm in a sustainable fashion.

It takes a lot of effort and manpower to farm this way.  We attempt to grow very hardy plants and animals that can resist pest and diseases.  Closely monitoring our farm, we try to nip any issues in the bud before they become systemic problems.   We  combine our livestock, poultry and plants together to support the total farm mission -- growing nutritious food for local customers.

We raise meats- pork, chicken, and lamb , as well as vegetables, fruits and herbs.  We offer value-added products such as salsas and jams.  And our hives provide beautiful raw honey for sale.

On the following pages, you can see the bounty we offer.  Check out The Farmer's Daughter market and butcher if you are interested in our products.

Everything is here to be happy on earth.
We have snow and every day a new morning.
We have trees and rain, hope and tears.
We have humus and oxygen,
Animals and all the colors.
We have distant lands and bicycles.
We have sun and shadow.
We are rich.
