Each year, Taproot Farm offers opportunities for several farm interns to join us during the growing season.  We see this introduction to our style of farming as a key element in our mission -- growing new farmers.  And we have been blessed with some amazing young people -- making life-long friendships.  Interns have arrived here from England, Chicago, Colorado, and West Virginia -- they come from both near and far -- and, thanks to social media, we stay in touch!

Our intern opportunities are listed on the WWOOF website -wwoofusa.org.  WWOOF stands for World Wide Opportunities in Organic Farming and matches our needs and timing with that of the volunteer.  We pick up the intern at the airport or bus station and then provide food, lodging and education.  In exchange, the intern works along side us for their three or four week stay.  We also take our interns to social, musical and cultural activities in the area.  Some have even traveled to Washington, DC to visit the monuments and museums.
